Information on AGM Telecom Inmate Telephone Service and Systems

AGM Telecom has been acquired by Public Communication Services.

AGM Telecom has designed a unique telephone system, the Inmate Calling Manager, or ICM, especially for correctional institutions. ICM uses IP technology to provide a collect call processing system for inmates over a centralized network. The collect call application prevents call fraud through a web-based system.

The ICM system is flexible and can be scaled to match the needs of any individual correctional institution. Some of the main features of ICM include:

  • Live call monitoring
  • Prepaid call options
  • Full-channel recording
  • Automated collect calling
  • Call records accessible in real-time
  • Internet based reporting capacity
  • VPN (Virtual Private Network) security features
  • Full redundancy
  • Archives available on CD/DVD
  • Live call forwarding
  • Useful as a powerful investigation tool
  • Adjustable network configurations
  • Integrated call monitoring and recording
  • Options for Inmate Personal Identification Numbers (PIN)
  • Integrated Jail Management System and Commissary (JMSC) options

For smaller correctional facilities that are less-equipped, the centralized system can provide an economical solution to monitor and manage their telephone service. The institutions only require installation of inmate telephones a power back-up system, a workstation and peripherals. All call information is communicated over a VPN connection to one of several AGM Network Operation Centers, or NOCs.

All information is kept secure in the event of an accident by being stored redundantly at a geographically separate location to the NOC. Access via public network is also blocked for security reasons. Correctional staff can always access the digitally encrypted documented discussions by logging into the AGM Telecom website, or through the AGM VPN.

The centralized hardware permits several facilities to share the system, allowing the individual institutions to lower costs toward equipment and upgrades.
